Jessica of Designing Dreams: Weddings and Special Events

I recently did some new head shots for wedding planner Jessica Giordano of Designing Dreams: Weddings and Special Events. Jessica's an absolute sweetheart - we met about a year ago and bonded over shoes! How can you not love a girl like that!?

Kim & Mike: Newlyweds

Kim and Mike are such a creative and fun couple, I couldn't wait to photograph their wedding. I love the vintage Florida theme (considering that Mike proposed on Anna Maria Island, I'd say it's pretty appropriate!) and the gorgeous colors they used to carry it throughout the day.

Beatiful flowers by Lee Forrest.

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Garden provided a stunning backdrop for their ceremony and their reception was at Casa Feliz.

The crew from Busy Brides Wedding Services did an amazing job keeping the day flowing smoothly!

Look how cute these two are!

Mmm.... cake! I couldn't walk near it - it smelled so amazing I just wanted to stick my finger in it! But I behaved, I promise!

Special thanks to my good friend, the talented Suzie Seagraves who second shot for me!

What's this?

A trash the dress gone wrong?

Nope! Merely a shot from Designing Weddings' new ad campaign which I recently had the pleasure of shooting for wedding coordinator extraordinaire, Tina Robinson!

Tina also creates these gorgeous gift card boxes that brides can purchase for use at their wedding. The boxes are personalized with your photos - a great use for those engagement pictures! The samples you see here was created with some of my wedding/engagement favorites!

While we were shooting, we did some new head shots of Tina and her helper, Vicki, for their web site. These lovely ladies are a fun, low-stress duo to work with - perfect for the bride in need of a little wedding planning assistance!

Big Sur Road Trip

Finally! I've been wanting to post this for a while, but have been super slammed with work!

On my way to Kelly & Jon's wedding I flew into San Francisco late Thursday night. I crashed with my friend, Christine, who was attending the wedding and on Friday we met up with two other friends, Megan and Josh, and began what's been dubbed National Lampoon's Wedding Roadtrip/Weekend.

What should have been a 2.5 hour drive to Big Sur took us nearly 4 hours. Not because of traffic mind you, but because of all the random stops we made along the way: gas, Target (Josh needed dress socks), Trader Joe's (Christine needed wine. Ok, I lie. We all needed wine).

But we finally made it and checked into our cabin at the Ripplewood Resort and stashed all our wine in the fridge (ahem, 11 bottles - no, we didn't drink them all!)

We made a fire and we made smores and roasted olives over the campfire (don't ask, I'm not sure how that came about!) and talked late into the night.

Saturday was wedding day, which you've already seen, so I'll fast forward to Sunday. We drove up the PCH on our way back to San Francisco and stopped along the way for some fantastic scenery!

The sand had a cool purple tint due to some mineral (hey, I forgot, it's been a while!)

Kelly & Jon: Forever

Photo heavy post ahead!

I've known Kelly for nearly three years now and was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding to Jon! I've never been to Northern California, so the fact that it was a destination wedding in Big Sur was an added bonus.

Things started to get a little hairy in the middle of July with the Basin Complex Fire. Their venue, the Ventana Inn & Spa was closed, then re-opened, then closed again, then open...you get the idea... due to the Basin Complex fire. Fortunately Kelly's a pretty chill bride and it seemed like things were going to work out in the end.

Then, less than a week before the wedding, there was an electrical fire at the Ventana which meant the wedding wasn't going to be able to take place there! I'm not kidding! So they relocated about 2 miles up the road to the Big Sur River Inn. They did a beautiful job pulling things together.

I have to start with what may be my favorite shot of the day!

Dannielle & Tim got hitched!

Dannielle and Tim were such a joy to photograph today. Actually, now that I look at the clock, it was yesterday! So pardon any early morning typos! They were so excited to see their photos, I promised them a little sneak peek before the left for their honeymoon this morning.

They had their ceremony at the gorgeous Knowles Chapel at Rollins College, one of my favorite venues! The reception, which was unbelievably fun, was held at Arnold Palmers Bay Hill Club and Lodge. I'd never been there before, but wow is it beautiful!

Dannielle was such a beautiful bride in her Reem Acra gown. Man that thing was heavy!

Tim, looking all GQ!

Courtney, the gorgeous flower girl! Her brother, Jonathan, was the ring bearer. I have to grab a shot of him to add here, he was equally adorable!

They totally belong in a magazine!

Enjoy your cruise you two!
