In Print: Brides Magazine November/December 2008

I'm beyond excited - I just got my hands on a copy of the November/December 2008 issue of Brides Magazine and can finally share the fun news! Every year the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and Brides run a photography contest. This image, from Leighton & Tiffany's wedding, placed first in the ceremony category!



From the time I started editing the wedding, this image of Elijah looking up at his father as Tiffany walked down the aisle was one of my favorites!

October is breast cancer awareness month!

Breast cancer is a cause that's near and dear to my heart - my maternal grandmother passed away due to breast cancer related complications. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, I wanted to take a moment to remind you to do monthly self-exams and visit the doctor if you find anything you shouldn't! The earlier cancer is detected, the better chance there is of fighting it!

As a participating member of Think Pink, Lori Barbely Photography is proud to offer Think Pink Sessions! Think Pink Sessions help breast cancer survivors and their supporters to celebrate life through a complimentary photography session.

Any individual that has been diagnosed with breast cancer or completed treatment within the past 12 months qualifies for a Think Pink Session. Sessions are available to document the fight before or during treatment or to celebrate the victory when treatment is completed. Qualified clients will receive a complimentary session, (20) small prints, and a discount off additional print orders.

Nope! Merely a shot from Designing Weddings' new ad campaign which I recently had the pleasure of shooting for wedding coordinator extraordinaire, Tina Robinson!

Tina also creates these gorgeous gift card boxes that brides can purchase for use at their wedding. The boxes are personalized with your photos - a great use for those engagement pictures! The samples you see here was created with some of my wedding/engagement favorites!






While we were shooting, we did some new head shots of Tina and her helper, Vicki, for their web site. These lovely ladies are a fun, low-stress duo to work with - perfect for the bride in need of a little wedding planning assistance!
