Fun with friends

Every so often a group of local photographer friends get together and shoot for fun. We grabbed a few models and did some urban bridal portraits/trash the dress shots, had a little food (mini corn dogs - does it get any better than that?), and talked a lot of shop. Here's a a little sneak peek from the day - I still have a bunch of editing to do!

Randomness

So I'm out and about doing errands and such when my hubby calls and says "I just saw one of your clients on TV!" Now he's not good with names, so after a few questions, we figured out that it was Maggie & Chris. My husband had come to assist me with their Trash the Dress shoot at Wekiva Springs, which is how he recognized them.

Maggie and Chris met through eHarmony and were filmed to appear in one of their commercials! Read all about it in Maggie's blog. Her post (which is a few months old) talks about them running in Canada, but they're definitely appearing here in the US now!

It's great to know that eHarmony works for people - Maggie and Chris are such a fun couple that are so well-suited for each other and were such a fun couple to photograph!

Ugh....email!

So apparently it's still 50%-50% as to whether or not I'm getting emails. I thought my email provider had it fixed, but I guess not! In any case, please use lbarbely{at}gmail{dot}com in the meantime. So sorry for the hassle!

Big Sur Road Trip

Finally! I've been wanting to post this for a while, but have been super slammed with work!

On my way to Kelly & Jon's wedding I flew into San Francisco late Thursday night. I crashed with my friend, Christine, who was attending the wedding and on Friday we met up with two other friends, Megan and Josh, and began what's been dubbed National Lampoon's Wedding Roadtrip/Weekend.

What should have been a 2.5 hour drive to Big Sur took us nearly 4 hours. Not because of traffic mind you, but because of all the random stops we made along the way: gas, Target (Josh needed dress socks), Trader Joe's (Christine needed wine. Ok, I lie. We all needed wine).

But we finally made it and checked into our cabin at the Ripplewood Resort and stashed all our wine in the fridge (ahem, 11 bottles - no, we didn't drink them all!)

We made a fire and we made smores and roasted olives over the campfire (don't ask, I'm not sure how that came about!) and talked late into the night.

Saturday was wedding day, which you've already seen, so I'll fast forward to Sunday. We drove up the PCH on our way back to San Francisco and stopped along the way for some fantastic scenery!

The sand had a cool purple tint due to some mineral (hey, I forgot, it's been a while!)
